I started reading them BEFORE the final book came out. I pre-ordered it, of course, but it was released during a rough semester at school and I spent the following summer traveling abroad. I finally brought myself to recap the end of Catching Fire and all I can say is… Holy shit, Suzanne Collins, you are amazing.
I can’t wait for the movie to come out, though it’ll be difficult to do the books justice.
things to do in life:
i need to stop taking everything so personally and just accept that people/society/the world sucks.
So, my town in CT was hit hard by the snowstorm this weekend and has not had power since Saturday night. The mayor, as well as the mayors of the surrounding towns, had to “reschedule” Halloween. Therefore, all of the stores have SO much leftover candy that is on sale. My mom went to CVS today to buy candy for my uncle who is currently stationed in Afghanistan (he has a big sweet tooth). She was there, and a grandmother came up to her talking about the storm. This woman’s two granddaughters went up to my mom and told them that they got to have a “real” Halloween because their town had power. So, my mom told the grandmother why she was buying so much candy.
Later, the old woman comes up to my mom with a bag of candy that she bought, and she told her to tell my uncle “thank you” for everything he’s doing. The two granddaughters were beaming because they wanted to help a soldier.
God bless the good people in this world.
